5th grade travel Basketball

Is it me or is the 5th gr boys travel team becoming unbearable to watch. Again, we have a group of kids who's parents networked to put them on the team. People!!!!!!!!! having all your neighbors kids on a team does not make for a winning program. Let me guess...right now there is a cranky mother saying "winning isn't everything." If you care nothing about upholding the Berlin's town name and winning does not matter please keep your kid in park and rec.
Corey (Head man in Charge) was suppose to shake things up and usher in a new ideal, new committment, new spirit, NOPE. Same ole politically runned agendas.

We had a chance of having the best young point guard I have seen in 7years come play with us (After reading that sentence most of the parents know who he is.) He is the kid that scared the crap out of all the 5th grade parents. So much so, parents (you know who you are) ran to Corey and demanded that he not be allowed to tryout, because he was only in 4th grade and I won't even mention the fact that he was not white. Some how or another, a new unwritten rule was passed. The new unwritten, unvarified rule was that he could not play up no matter how good he is (it seems that we are the only town that has adopted this new rule.) People, trust me, I have been around basketball all my life, this kid is the truth and I promise you will hear his name in the future. However, not with Berlin Travel Team. When I spoke with the father of this 9yr old young man, the father stated that he will never suit up for the travel team because of how poorly the situation was handled.

This has been bothering me for a while. I watch the travel team play and just wonder how much better we would have been with this one kid. Trust me, ONE person is the difference between winning and the 2009-2010 5th grade Travel Team.
