Pro football coming to Sage Park

The football-loving town of Berlin is in for a treat. The Hartford Colonials, a member of the five-team United Football League, will use Sage Park’s Scalise Field as its practice facility this fall. Cooler still, practice sessions are open to the public.

Police seek information on Lamentation Drive incident

The Berlin Police Department issued an advisory notice June 1 in regards to an attempted burglary that occurred between May 17 and May 31 in the 150 block of Lamentation Drive. The police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity that may have been seen in the area during that time.

Memory Lane House Tour planned

As a prelude to our most American of holidays, the 4th of July, The Berlin Historical Society will host a tour of Don DiMugno's Americana museum house and gardens, at 132 Alling Street on Sunday, June 27 between 1 and 5 p.m.

State tournament brackets unveiled

The Berlin High School softball team earned the No. 13 seed in the CIAC Class L state tournament and will face No. 20 Sheehan Tuesday, 4 p.m. at Sage Park.

The Lady Redcoats enter the tournament with a record of 13-7. Sheehan is 10-10.
