Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced today at 4 p.m. that more than 90 cooling centers have been opened in cities and towns across Connecticut as municipalities respond to the governor’s request to ensure adequate relief from a ferocious summer heat wave.

The State of Connecticut announced today, June 30, the opening of the registration Web site for CT Alert www.ctalert.gov, the nation’s first statewide emergency notification system enabling Connecticut authorities to communicate critical information to hundreds of thousands of Connecticut residents and businesses before, during and after emergencies.
