The Berlin Town Council will meet again for another emergency meeting Monday night at 7 p.m.

There have been several issues that have come up with the proposed plan which was presented Thursday night to pick up trash.

Change is Good!

As a Republican, I would like to see some change. But, how about the change is that the people of Berlin are thought of before Politics? Too often these issues are made to try and make the individual party look bad or good, without any thought for how it will affect the people of this town. Our taxes will likely be increased if this goes on for very long. THIS IS WRONG! We as residents of Berlin, do not need to vote on every issue. These people were elected to work for us. Let them do they're job. Moving to automated trash is a no brainer. Manual trash is obsolete. If it could have been out sourced to another country it would be.

The thing that stinks about this isn't the garbage...it's the politics.
Put the PEOPLE FIRST!...the party second

Garbage Collection

It is depressing to find the council members, once again, misread or completely ignored the will of the citizens of Berlin. Rather than lead, they don't even follow. This is the just the most recent example of them being out-of-step. Maybe it is time for a change?

Time for a change all right...

Time to make sure any of the misguided proponents (who were lead by an attorney and should have known better) never make it anywhere near any town office.

As for the town council, I'm disappointed that they let this fiasco get this far, but at least they did what needed to be done. Aside from the constitutional issue of undoing an active contract, if 1,900 townspeople got together and voted to have the town immediately burn $500,000 of our money, I would like to hope they would have to find a way around that as well. The concept of voting to undo a contract entered into by the town over 3 months ago, AFTER the contractor has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in anticipation of that contract... well, I'm fairly confident the proponents could not care about your trash and care even less about fiscal responsibility (the cost of the election alone is almost the difference in the contracts, let alone their postcard mailing). This was a political stunt at our expense - remember that when your taxes increase.

Oh, issues like town

Oh, issues like town residents having to haul away their own trash? I have an idea - how about all the genius town council members get a truck and come haul it away for me.

How about this idea?

How about Paul Argazzi getting a truck and picking up our trash since he started this mess?
