Arthur "Dave" Durity, 71, of East Berlin, died peacefully March 3, 2008 after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Patricia (Bodach) Durity. Born in Berlin, he was the son of the late Arthur and Irene (Case) Durity.

Retired from SNET Company, he loved fishing and boating on Ingham Pond in Maine. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the University of Connecticut Women's Basketball. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 68.

In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by four sons, Arthur Durity and his wife Melissa of Thomaston, Maine, David Durity, Darryl Durity and Clifton Durity, all of Berlin; a granddaughter, Brandi; two grandsons, Derrick and Daniel; a step-grandson, Michael; and a sister, Beverly Suyematsu of Cape Cod, Mass.

Services were held March 7, 2008 at the United Methodist Church of East Berlin. Burial was in Wilcox Cemetery.
