Benigni named assistant superintendent

Brian Benigni, principal of McGee Middle School, was appointed assistant superintendent of schools at Monday’s Board of Education meeting.
Benigni has worked in Berlin schools for 20 years. He replaces Rena Klebart who has been in that position for four years. His brother Mark Benigni recently took the job of superintedent for Meriden schools
Brian Benigni was one of 40 applicants for the Berlin job.
Superintendent of School David Erwin, who began in May, said of Benigni “It was apparent he’d done a wonderful job and was more than ready.
