Berlin Public Schools and St. Paul Catholic School are closed today due to the weather. Light freezing rain in the morning was expected to turn to sleet and then rain later in the day. The morning temperatures hovering in the low 30s, meant icy roads and hazardous driving conditions.

Schools throughout the state were closed, although a few opted for a delayed start. The Tuesday storm is one of a series of weather events bringing above normal amounts of snow, ice and rain to the region this winter.

Snow is predicted for the weekend and temperatures are expected to drop into the low 20s with windy conditions.
