McGee Middle School closed early today, March, 12, amid continuing concerns about air quality. The school may not reopen until Thursday. A meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday night, with paretns, to discuss the situation.

According to a calls to parents and a notice posted on the school’s website, air samples will be taken on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from all areas of the building, including classrooms.

Several parents called The Citizen Friday to express concerns about what is happpening at the school.

Students were evacuated Wednesday and Thursday due to fumes coming into the building from construction repairs on the roof.
