Sara Munson, director of Berlin-Peck Memorial Library, retired July 2 after 10 years of service. Munson is recognized for her work to expand the library collection and bring the library into the twenty-first century.

“It was a joy, “ said Assistant Director Cathy Nelson refering to working with Munson. “She was one of those unique people who was a people person but really into technology.”
Munson was on vacation and could not be reached for comment.
Before Munson took over operations, “Things were in a lull” said Elizabeth Bennett, vice-chairman of the Library Board. Drawing from a minimal budget and facing the onslaught of new technology, the library was languishing. But “Sara came at the right time, and she was a right fit,” Bennett said.
