Pasquale "Pat" Vernacatola

Pasquale "Pat" Vernacatola, 84, of New Britain, Ct., beloved husband of 64 years to Laura (Filinski) Vernacatola, passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General after a short illness. Pat was born in New Britain, Ct. and was the son of the late Fiore and Liberta Vernacatola. Pat's life was filled with hard work and many trades. He eventually retired as supervisor at New Britain Water Department. Pat was a life member of the B.P.O.E. #957 and Holy Cross Church, both of New Britain, Ct.
In addition to his wife, Laura, Pat is survived by his granddaughters, Paula Nappi and her husband, Mike, Lisa Gothberg and her husband, Erik, all of Southington, Ct., his son-in-law, Paul Palmese, Jr. and his wife, Mary Rose of Berlin, Ct., his sister, Anna Boisonneault and her husband, Maurice, of Newington, Ct.; and also the enjoyment of his life, his great grandchildren, Samantha, Jordyn and Mitchel Nappi, Nick and Rylee Gothberg, Raegan and Jackson Moore. Pat was sadly predeceased by his daughter, Ann Palmese, his granddaughter, Beth Moore, and his siblings, Virginia Bottachian, Lillian Dean and Tony Vernacatola.
Funeral rites for Pat will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. with the procession departing at 9:00 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, Ct. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Avenue, New Britain, Ct. Committal service and final resting place will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Burritt Street, New Britain, Ct. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, Sunday from 3- 5 p.m. The Elks' Lodge #957 will hold a ritual at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
