About 30 percent of Berlin’s affiliated voters came out to vote in the Aug. 10 primary; almost twice the turnout of voters statewide, according to the registrars of voters office.
For the most part, Berlin Democrats and Republicans were in sync with broader voting trends. The exception was in the GOP lieutenant governor run-off.
In Berlin, Republicans gave the nod to Tom Foley for governor; Linda Wilson-Foley for lieutenant governor; Linda McMahon for U.S. Senator; Anne Brickley for representative in Congress; and Martha Dean for attorney general.
Democrats favored Dan Malloy for governor; Nancy Wyman for lieutenant governor; Denise Merrill for secretary of the state; and Kevin Lembo for comptroller.
In Berlin 5,206 Democrats were eligible to vote and 1,474 or 28.3 percent did.
